Are you an OPEN Pakistan (Global Online Course/RELO Tailored) Course alumni, looking to run an online English language courses to meet the needs of a specific group of educators?
The Regional English Language Office (RELO) at the U.S. Embassy Islamabad, under the Online Professional English Network Pakistan Program, invites OPEN Pakistan Global Online Course alumni to apply for the OPEN Cubed Pakistan Program.
The program will guide a group of 20 OPEN alumni to understand how to adapt and deliver their own OPEN online course for colleagues in their institutions or communities.
Program Goals
The program will enable participants to:
master the Canvas platform
learn how to load an existing OPEN course into their Canvas account and Understand how to modify it to meet the needs of a specific audience existing
learn how to deliver a course to a group of teachers or learners, either entirely online or as a blended experience.
learn how to continually improve their own teacher training capabilities through careful analysis of feedback, reflection, and further planning.
Eligibility Criteria:
be an OPEN Pakistan Global Online Course/RELO Tailored Course alumna/alumnus.
reside in Pakistan for the entire duration of the course.
have regular and reliable access to high-speed internet connection.
be able to spend 6-8 hours online each week for the duration of the project.
be willing to facilitate an online course for a group of English language teachers or learners in his/her community.

OPEN stands for Online Professional English Network (OPEN; formerly E-Teacher). You can learn more about OPEN at https://www.openenglishprograms.org/.
The OPEN Cubed program is the initiative under the OPEN Pakistan Program. The program will guide a group of 20 OPEN alumni to understand how to adapt and deliver their own OPEN online course for colleagues in their institutions or communities. The project consists of three phases:
Phase 1:
Participants learn how to access the course cartridges, modify and build own course in Canvas, and make plans to deliver the course ( July 1 – August 11, 2024 )
Phase 2:
With guidance from Specialist, participants deliver the course to other colleagues (August 12 – November 30, 2024)
Phase 3:
Participants gather feedback, reflect, and plan future professional development opportunities using OPEN content and the Canvas platform (December 1 -15, 2024)
The program will enable participants to:
- master the Canvas platform
- learn how to load an existing OPEN course into their Canvas account and Understand how to modify it to meet the needs of a specific audience existing
- learn how to deliver a course to a group of teachers or learners, either entirely online or as a blended experience.
- learn how to continually improve their own teacher training capabilities through careful analysis of feedback, reflection, and further planning.
Candidates Must:
- be an OPEN Pakistan Global Online Course/ RELO Tailored alumna/alumnus.
- reside in Pakistan for the entire duration of the course.
- have regular and reliable access to high-speed internet connection.
- be able to spend 6-8 hours online each week for the duration of the project.
- be willing to facilitate an online course for a group of English language teachers or learners in his/her community.
OPEN Global Online Courses (GOCs) are offered on quarterly basis across Pakistan. These courses are offered for 8 weeks, led by the American Instructors. English Language teachers from all across Pakistan can avail the opportunity and get enrolled in 10 different courses offered by different American Universities and Institutes. If you have completed the 8 week online course successfully under the OPEN Program for Pakistan (E-Teacher) then you are considered Global Online Course alumni.
MOOCs participants are ineligible for the OPEN Cubed Program 2024. However, once you will complete the Global Online Course, you may apply.
American English Live Series participants are ineligible for the OPEN Cubed Program 2024. However, once you will complete the Global Online Course, you may apply.
No! Shortlisted participants of the OPEN Cubed Program 2024 will require to complete all 3 phases of the program. However, if the participant fails or drop out during the program then the participant will be ineligible for any RELO-funded program in future.
