The 5th OPEN English Language Expo 2025 Registration Now Open
The Regional English Language Office (RELO) Pakistan, in collaboration with Sindh-Higher Education Commission, Sindh Madresstul Islam University (SMIU) and Evolution, invites educational institutions to register their English language professionals and educators for the 5th OPEN English Language Expo. The event will be held on January 25-26, 2025, in Karachi.

This two-day Expo, themed “Transforming English Language Education for a Sustainable Tomorrow”, encourages institutions to nominate their English language teachers and learners specializing in linguistics, literature, or related fields. The Expo seeks to foster innovation and sustainability in English language education, offering a platform for knowledge sharing, professional development, and alignment with global educational sustainability goals.
ELIGIBILITY:

The registration is open exclusively to educational institutions located in Karachi, Hyderabad (including Jamshoro, Hala, and adjoining areas within 141 km from Karachi), Slots are allocated regionally to ensure broad participation as follows:
- Hyderabad/Jamshoro/Hala/adjoining areas: 50 participants
- Karachi: 270 participants

25+ Sessions
These sessions, led by OPEN alumni, will focus on integrating SDGs such as Quality Education (SDG 4), Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8), and Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure (SDG 9) into English language teaching. Participants will gain insights into incorporating these SDGs into the English curriculum, thereby enhancing educational practices and preparing students to tackle global challenges.
Innovation Challenge Showcase:
Aligned with SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), this dynamic challenge will highlight creative solutions and prototypes designed to address pressing educational challenges in language teaching. Educators will present innovative ideas that promote access to quality education and foster sustainable teaching methodologies.
Information Corners/Stalls:
These stalls will connect attendees with RELO-Pakistan programs and resources, empowering them to access opportunities aligned with SDG 4 (Quality Education). They will also promote global educational exchanges, enhancing the quality and reach of education.
Career Guidance Workshops:
Supporting SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), these workshops will provide emerging educators with essential tools for career advancement. The focus will be on professional development and practical career strategies to support sustainable career paths in English education.
OPEN Alumni Success Stories:
This showcase will highlight alumni contributions to SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth). Their innovative projects and success stories will inspire fellow educators to adopt sustainable practices and make a significant impact in their communities.
Interactive Educational Games:
Through engaging quizzes and games, the Expo will make learning about SDGs both fun and educational. These activities will promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills, supporting SDG 4 (Quality Education) by making sustainability concepts more accessible to educators and learners.
Mindfulness and Stress Management Workshops:
Aligned with SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), these workshops will offer strategies for managing the pressures of teaching. By supporting mental well-being, the workshops aim to create more sustain
DIY Language Teaching Tools Workshops:
These hands-on workshops, which emphasize using local materials, will foster creativity and resourcefulness in developing teaching tools. This initiative supports SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) by promoting sustainable approaches to creating educational resources.
Human Library and Storytellers' Corner:
This informal, interactive space will facilitate meaningful exchanges and community building among educators, promoting SDG 4 (Quality Education). It provides a platform for teachers to share experiences that emphasize empathy, understanding, and global citizenship.
Interactive Drama Sessions:
These pop-up theater sessions will explore the use of drama as an educational tool, supporting SDG 4 (Quality Education). The sessions will make language learning interactive and immersive, enhancing creativity and engagement in the classroom.

ACCEPTING INSTITUTIONAL REGISTRATION ONLY

REGISTRATION IS MANDATORY. The final list of registered participants will be confirmed via email to the respective nominating institutions after submission and approval. Eligible applicants will receive a follow-up email as confirmation of their participation.

The title of the 5th English Language Expo 2025 is ‘Transforming English Language Education For a Sustainable Tomorrow’. The Expo will focus on four SDGs (3, 4, 8, & 9) to inspire educators to incorporate sustainability principles into their teaching practices.
The educational institutions in Karachi, Hyderabad (Hala, Jamshoro and adjoining areas within 141 km from Karachi) are required to complete the institutional registration process to have their English language teaching professionals officially registered for the Expo. Please note that individual registrations are not accepted.
The El-Expo 2025 will feature 20+ engaging presentations and workshops led by distinguished English Language Teaching (ELT) professionals. Among these, 20 to 30 OPEN alumni from across Pakistan will showcase their expertise, alongside American English Language Specialists. These interactive sessions and workshops will focus on integrating sustainability principles into English language education, fostering collaboration, innovation, and professional growth among attendees.

The El-Expo 2025 will be held on January 25 and 26, 2025 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Expo venue Sindh Madresstul Islam university Karachi.
Yes, participants will receive an e-certificate upon successfully completing the following requirements:
- Attend both days of the two-day in-person Expo.
- Submit the post-event survey, which will be shared at the conclusion of the event.
The e-certificates will be shared via email after verifying attendance and survey submission.
According to the program policy:
- Only registered participants are allowed. Access to the event will NOT be granted to the unregistered participants.
- Attendees are not allowed to bring family members, friends, siblings, or children to the event.
- Unauthorized individuals accompanying attendees may lead to the revocation of the invitation.
Participation in this Expo is through institutional registration only. Educational Institutions are required to nominate their English language teachers and learners from the relevant fields to attend the event. Yes, pre-registration is mandatory and must be completed by the heads of the respective institutions. Please adhere to the following registration guidelines:
- The Expo is an in-person, two-day event, and participants must attend both days to be eligible for an E-certificate of the Expo.
- Heads of institutions are responsible for nominating English language teachers and learners and submitting their details through the registration process outlined by the OPEN team.
- Participants are required to present their original CNIC at the venue for verification.
Please note that filling out the registration form DOES NOT automatically confirm your participation in the expo. After the registration process, the names of selected nominees will be shared with the head of the respective institution for confirmation.
Shortlisted participants will receive confirmation via email and follow-up calls to finalize their participation.
- 1. Meals
Lunch will be provided to all registered attendees on both days of the event.
2. Travel Support
o Transportation will be provided for institutes nominating at least 10 participants.
o Participants traveling from Hyderabad, Jamshoro, Hala, and adjoining areas will be offered local transportation arrangements to and from the venue.
o For participants from Baluchistan, air tickets will be arranged to ensure comfortable travel.
3. Accommodation
o Please note, Attendees from outside Karachi, including Hyderabad regions, WILL NOT receive accommodation support for the event duration.
Only Baluchistan participants will receive accommodation.
- Each participating institute is required to nominate English language teachers and learners specializing in English Linguistics, Literature or related fields.
- Nominations must be submitted by the heads of the respective institutes, along with the required details of each nominee.
- The head of the institution must:
- Fill out the Google Form provided by the OPEN team for registration purposes.
- Submit an Excel sheet containing all the required information about the participants.
